The Ohio State Reformatory (Mansfield)

Mansfield Reformatory

This is a place that we have yet to investigate, but we have a strong interest in going there.  Now, I (Tobin) have gone on a tour of the reformatory and it was an interesting visit.

Here I’m just going to share a few pics of the facility and one pic that I believe has a “ghost” in it.

This reformatory has a lot of history to it.  Not only was it a state reformatory for many years, but it’s been in a few movies.  It’s the facility used in The Shawshank Redemption and played a part in the movie, Air Force One.

The outside of the reformatory

The inside is old and delpidated.  Still, you can still feel the ominous presence of the place.

The many cells stacked on top of each other seem to go on forever

During the tour you could feel the changes in pressure, temperature and general easiness, but it was a group setting and not an investigation.

We did stop and take one picture that is very interesting to me.  My mother was with us on the tour and she wanted a picture in a certain room.  If you look at the picture and look over her left (on your right) shoulder, you will see what seems like, a person standing behind her.  This “person” has no features and could be a shadow person.  You look and let me know what you think.

There is something (someone) standing behind her

We look forward to getting in there and seeing what we can find.
