Paranormal Investigators Needed
Indiana SPI is hiring. Read this and then hit “read more” to see the application process.
Hello Friends and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Over the last few years a number of you have inquired about membership. At the time we did not have any positions available and we asked you to become a member of our Friends List for future openings! Well, the time has come. We are looking to add two to three new investigators to our team.
This will be a very unique opportunity! Because we now work so closely with Quest Paranormal Research, you may get the opportunity to investigate with and learn with(/from) not only one but TWO well established, experienced paranormal groups!
Adding members to our very tight-knit group is no small task, so, if you are interested in joining this will be a process that will require some effort on your part. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE ATTACHED DOCUMENT AND FOLLOW THE INSTUCTIONS CAREFULLY!!! We will be accepting applications for the next few weeks and hope to have selected our top candidates by early January.
As a side note, we do not require that you have any experience or specific knowledge; however, below is a short list of things that MIGHT help your chances.
(None of these are required for applicants)
Knowledge base about the equipment used in paranormal investigations.
Knowledge base about computers, specifically web-sites, video and audio programs.
Knowledge base in any scientific field.
Ownership of equipment used in the field.
Enthusiasm, dedication and availability.
IF INTERESTED… see attached!

Hello!
We are glad you have decided to check out this opportunity in more detail! This document will not only give you a little background on Indiana-SPI, as well as Quest, but it will also explain the process that we intend on using to pick our possible new members. It will also explain why we have decided to make this a process instead of just picking anyone that shows interest in the field of paranormal investigating! The mission of Indiana-SPI is listed on the web site, but I’d like to point out two things for you… first, we do try to debunk things first and our motto is Experience Equals Memories but Evidence Equals Truth. Second, and more important, our goal is to help people!
Indiana Scientific Paranormal Investigators (a.k.a. Indiana-SPI) has been around since October 2005. We have been on many investigations which include highly public cases like Central State Insane Asylum and Prospect Place Mansion to private investigations as far away as Southern Indiana. Our membership has been somewhat fluid as of late and we are looking for two to three dedicated individuals that not only have a passion for the paranormal but also have the availability to dedicate some time to the group. With that said, we understand that this is a hobby and life happens. We believe that family comes first! We also believe that we (as a group) are a tight-knit group (like a family) and we believe it is extremely crucial that our new members fit in well with the rest of the group. This is the main reason that we have decided to create a new process that we can use in selecting new members!
So, with all of that said… let’s get to the details of the process! In short, we will require a resume (of sorts) that will tell us a little about you. After reviewing these we will select approximately five candidates that we think may fit well with our group. If you are one of the selectees the next step will be a trial investigation. This investigation will not be meant for training – though you will get some pointers for sure – but it will give us a chance to spend some time with each applicant and actually investigate to see how the applicants work. During this investigation you may also find yourself in an interview of sorts with various members from either group (Indiana-SPI and/or Quest). After the investigation we may or may not ask you to attend our evidence review session, but you will be notified if you have been selected as a probationary member or not. We believe a probationary period will be essential in allowing us to pick the right person! If you are selected as a probationary member you will be treated as any other new investigator and you will be expected to attend some training sessions as well as investigations.
So… if you are interested in becoming a member, please submit a resume to me via email at todd@indianaspi.com and CC: mtpbook@hotmail.com (preferably an attached document that I can easily share with the other reviewing members). The resume should include the following information:
- Name
- Phone number (cell is fine)
- Area of residence (e.g. Greenwood, Noblesville, Southeast side of Indy, Crown Point, etc.)
- Knowledge base (e.g. list degrees or subjects studied)
- Hobbies outside of paranormal world
- Why you are interested in the paranormal (please be brief)
- Other knowledge bases you may have (e.g. cameras, computers, audio equipment, etc.)
- Time available and any recurring family commitments (e.g. only available every other weekend due to schedule with children, work, etc.).
OTHER IMTPORTANT INFORMATION
As stated above, we work very closely with another group called Quest Paranormal Research (Quest for short). Because of this, you will not only be evaluated by the members of Indiana-SPI but Quest as well. Quest is a group that was established about one year before Indiana-SPI and they are also based out of central Indiana. We work
with them on pretty much everything including investigations, library presentations, and any other events that arise. In addition, Quest also produces an online show called Ghost Diaries. As an Indiana-SPI member, if selected, you may or may not become a part of one or more episodes of Ghost Diaries. So, please keep this in mind when applying. In fact, it may be beneficial for you to learn a bit more about Quest and Ghost Diaries (and Indiana-SPI for that matter). Indiana-SPI can be found at www.indianaspi.com and Quest can be found at www.questparanormalresearch.com. I’ll leave it to you to find episodes of Ghost Diaries, OR other video projects we have been involved with.
We truly hope you understand the reasons that we decided to use such an in-depth process for applying to become a member of Indiana-SPI. Over the years we have had numerous people ask about membership and we have always advised them to become a member of our Friends List with the intention of offering those individuals an opportunity like this before reaching out to the general public! So, here is your chance! You have made it this far… please take the next step and apply to become a member!
Thank you and good luck!
