The Manor
We found out about Black Moon Manor from a fellow investigator and told we should check it out. We’re really glad we did.
The owner, Matt Speck, found this place simply by driving by it and wondering who owned it. He wanted to purchase the property and turn it in to a haunted attraction. He tracked down the owner, who was out of state, and made a deal to buy it. While making renovations for the haunted attraction, strange things started to occur. Not knowing a lot about the paranormal, Matt dismissed some of the incidents, but they started to grow. Matt finally decided to call in a team. Long story short, this place has become one of the most noteable haunted locations in the Indianapolis area.
Quest and Indiana SPI have investigated this place twice now. We had to go back and do a follow up. Both times resulted in some great evidence.

Not only was the inside of this place amazing, but the outside had some great adventures as well. There’s a tunnel of trees that leads to where around 200 bodies are burried on the property.

Back in the house, we sent one team in at a time. The house has a lot of openings and it’s easy to hear the noise travel in the house. So, that’s the only way to help relieve contamination.
When it comes to personal experiences, we had quite a few. One team was downstairs and there were foosteps in the room above. This happened several times for them. When going upstairs to check it out, there was nobody there. Of course, right? It’s that always the case? There were also several occasions where voices were heard. Some of these were caught on audio, but they are hard to hear without headphones.
One personal experience that all of us had that I think I should point out, is the popular flashlight game. You loosen a flashlight just enough so that it takes very little to turn it on and off. You set it down and ask the “spirits” questions and see if they will turn it on and off. Well, we got a lot of answers with this trick. Also, everyone was able to get this to happen. Now, we had this happen so much that we started to question it. Now, lots of TV shows use this trick and use it as evidence, so we wanted to make sure what we were getting was real. So, we ran some experiments at home. A couple of us did the tricks at home. Setting up the flashlights while doing regular non-paranormal stuff. The flashlights would come on randomly and then turn themselves off. This told us that we cannot use this method as evidence that a “spirit” is present. So, be careful everyone when using this method to investigate.
Now, let’s get to what we found and can use as evidence.
This first EVP was caught upstairs. You hear Pamela say “you never know” and then a whisper. This was not one of the investigators.
This next EVP was also caught upstairs. You hear Pamela say “we’re gonna head downstairs” with the hopes of the entity following them and after that you hear what sounds like a kid saying, “ok”.

This EVP was caught downstairs in the back room. You hear Tobin say something about setting the camera down and you hear what sounds to be a strange breath or moan.
This next one you have to get a back story with. Also, you need to know what a “mimic” is. I’ll simply put a “mimic” as an entity that tries to mimic someone in not only voice, but can present itself as a full person that you know. In this instance, you’ll hear Darren say that we need to turn this around on them “somehow” (as the girls in the group were trying to play a little joke on us). As Tobin is speaking, you’ll hear what sounds like Darren saying “somehow” again, but it wasn’t him. Listen carefully.
Now, this isn’t an EVP, but this happened twice (also caught on video twice). Questions were asked and something slapped a wire in the next room. You can hear it happen here. Since it happened twice, and as a direct response, we’re thinking it might slightly be paranormal. Judge for yourself.
We hope to continue our investigations there and hold our great relationship with the owner. It’s a great place to investigate and fun time.
